Aaron Krane, CEO
Before starting Hitpost, Aaron worked at Slide on the Top Friends team (acquired by Google), which accrued over 20 million MAU and became the most popular application on the Facebook platform. He also worked at Technorati, a tag search engine for social media. Aaron tutored NCAA athletes while studying English and Latin at UCLA, and was elected Student Body Co-President of Corte Madera Middle School in the 8th grade.
Anand Iyer, CTO
Before Hitpost, Anand was the Director of Product at IGN, the largest online video game property in the world. In that role, he managed teams for all IGN's market-leading products. Prior to that, Anand was a Product Manager, Evangelist, and Engineer er at Microsoft. Anand holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Purdue, and his first Web project was making a personal website for then-classmate Drew Brees (Super Bowl-winning QB for the New Orleans Saints).
Jeremy Robin, Director of Engineering
Jeremy was the Lead Architect at Cloudmark, where he built messaging and security systems used by over 1.6 billion subscribers, including the world's largest ISPs and social networks. Before that, he was Sr. Software Engineer at Abbott Laboratories, where he created software for glucose meters. Jeremy holds a B.A. and M.S. in Computer Science from Dartmouth and Stanford, respectively. He's also a tournament tennis player, and up until recently owned a Barack Obama chia pet.
Eric Van Vliet, Database Engineer
Eric was a Sr. Engineer at Cloudmark (with Jeremy). Prior to that, he was the CTO of Access Softek, and an Engineering Manager at Apple. He holds a Ph.D. in Information Studies and an M.A. in Mathematics, both from UC Berkeley. He prefers sailing over team sports, but we let it slide cuz he holds an Antarctica Service Medal from his stint on a Coast Guard icebreaker, which is gnarly.
Leo Liberman, Engineering Manager
Leo was an Android Software Engineer for mobile phone payments startups Cimbal and TrialPay, where he worked on their payment platforms. He holds a BA in Mathematics and Computer Science from UC Berkeley. He's also an avid tennis player, and his favorite car is the Audi RS5, because he says a car does not need 4 doors.
Victor Oliveros, iOS Engineer
Victor was an iPhone Software Engineer at DeNA, the largest mobile game developer in Japan. Prior to that, he was an iPhone engineer at mTools, a Dropbox for phones. Way prior to that, when he was 14, he started an online magazine with a bunch of other 14 year olds. Victor holds a B.A. in Computer Engineering from Cal Poly, where he invested his time engineering a robot that carries beer.
Oliver Dyla, Frontend Engineer
Oliver was the lead Software Engineer at travel startup Offbeat Guides, where he architected their front end and developed their RESTful API service. Before that, he was a Web Application Engineer at Entercomm Interactive, where he developed products for HP, BusinessObjects, and SAP consulting accounts. Oliver holds a BA in FMS Media Production from University of Rochester. We call him O-Dawg.
Neal Chandra, Software Engineer
Neal was a student at UC Berkeley, before he decided that he was just too cool for school. While at Berkeley he worked part-time at IGN Entertainment (with Anand) where he focused on the mobile web app. He likes to think he's a big football fan but he recently lost 102 - 0 in NFL Blitz 2000, which is downright sad.
Gregory B Carlson, Quality Assurance
Greg was a Production Assistant at ESPN, where he helped pick clips for Around the Horn and PTI. He was also an Account Manager at CrownPeak, where he helped large corporations implement CrownPeak's CMS, including Skype, EMI, Nissan and Staples. Greg holds a BA from UC Santa Barbara, and he met Aaron in gym class at Woodside High.
Keith Rabois
Keith is General Manager of Square, the company that allows people to accept payments anywhere. Previously, Keith served in business development roles at Slide, LinkedIn and PayPal, and is said to be the only person who owns equity in every VC-financed consumer Internet company founded by former PayPal employees. He was an early investor in YouTube, Yelp, and LinkedIn, and is a limited partner at Sequoia Capital.
Naval Ravikant
Naval is an entrepreneur and angel investor, a co-author of Venture Hacks, and founder of AngelList. Previously, he was a co-founder at Genoa Corp (acquired by Finisar), Epinions.com (IPO via Shopping.com), and Vast.com (large white-label classifieds marketplace). His investments include Twitter, FourSquare, Uber, DocVerse (sold to Google), Mixer Labs (sold to Twitter), amongst others.
Shervin Pishevar
Shervin was named "Bill Gates' Worst Nightmare" by the Financial Times, and is a visionary technology entrepreneur, angel investor, published researcher, start up advisor and incubation expert and startup visa activist. Shervin has raised over $50m in venture funding for his start ups and invested in over 30 startups, including Gowalla, Aardvark, Milo, and Klout.
Benjamin Ling
Benjamin leads the monetization efforts of YouTube at Google. He previously worked at Facebook, where he oversaw product marketing, developer operations and partner solutions for the Facebook Platform. He came to Facebook from Google in the Fall of 2007, and decided to return to the company in August of 2008. In his first stint at Google, Benjamin was the Product Management Director of Checkout, where he founded and led Google Checkout and oversaw Google Product Search. He managed a cross functional team that included product, engineering, sales, marketing, operations, finance and legal.
Buddy Arnheim
Buddy Arnheim, a partner at Perkins Coie LLC, is widely acknowledged as a leading practitioner in the areas of corporate and securities law and corporate governance matters. He has been involved in hundreds of transactions such as public equity and debt offerings, merger/acquisition transactions, private equity and venture capital financing transactions, and complex restructurings and spin-off transactions. He is also a limited partner in VC funds including Sequoia Capital and Andreessen Horowitz, amongst others.
Tom Moss
Tom Moss is the founder of 3LM, a stealth startup building mobile enterprise apps for Android. Previously, he was Google’s Head of Worldwide Business and Operations for Android, where he owned relationships with the major handset manufacturers and carriers for Google and led business development for the Android operating system.
Kal Vepuri
Kal founded companies in the fields of data analytics, web application development, computational systems, algorithmic trading, life sciences and telecommunications infrastructure during and after his time at Duke University, where he received a B.S.E. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Economics. He also spent time in academia as a Fulbright Scholar, management consulting at Bain & Company and private equity investing at Thomas H. Lee Capital/Lee Equity Partners and AEA Investors.
Josh Stylman
Josh has been named Entrepreneur Magazine’s list of the ’Hot 100 Fastest Growing New Businesses in America’ three times. His investments include GroupMe (acquired by Skype), bitly, and betaworks, amongst others. Josh founded and scaled Reprise Media from a bootstraped startup to an internationally recognized industry leader, which was acquired in 2007 by The Interpublic Group. Prior to that, he served as vice president of Business Development at Ask Jeeves (now Ask.com), where he was a pioneer in the early days of web search. Before Ask Jeeves, Stylman was co-founder at Rotomedia, a boutique web consulting firm, acquired by Ask in 1999. Currently, Joshua is involved in over two dozen companies as investor and advisor.
Eileen Burbidge
Early-stage tech angel/investor and advisor. Currently establishing White Bear Yard @whitebearyard (on Clerkenwell Road in London) as a hub for technology innovation and startups.
